ADAKAH HUBUNGAN ADIKSI GAME ONLINE DENGAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA
Abstract
Bermain game online secara berlebihan dalam durasi yang lama dan dilakukan secara terus-menerus dapat menyebabkan adiksi dalam bermain permainan online. Kecanduan dalam bermain permainan online dapat berpengaruh terhadap motivasi siswa terutama belajar sehingga dapat mempengaruhi prestasi akademik siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah mengetahui hubungan adiksi game online dengan prestasi belajar siswa. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP kelas 8 sejumlah 187 responden dengan besar sampel berjumlah 42 responden dan pemilihan sampel melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data diambil dengan menggunakan kuesioner Internet Addiction Test (IAT). Uji statistik dengan uji chi square. Hasil penelitian dari adiksi game online sebagian besar responden dalam kategori parah sebanyak 33 responden (79%). Prestasi belajar siswa sebagian besar responden dalam kategori kurang yaitu 28 responden (67%). Uji chi square didapatkan Asymp Sig. 0.002<0.05 yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan adiksi game online terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Adiksi game online mempengaruhi prestasi siswa sehingga diperlukan upaya untuk membatasi dan mengawasi penggunaan game online serta upaya untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa agar dapat belajar dengan baik.
