Abstract
Manual and electronic medical records are becoming important elements in modern hospital governance. Students of the Health Information Management Study Program (MIK) need to understand health ethics and laws related to medical records both manual and electronic. This study aims to analyze the understanding of Health Information Management (MIK) Study Program students about the implementation of health ethics and law in the management of medical records both manual and electronic in hospitals. This study used quantitative descriptive method with an online survey to 18 MIK students at STIKES Kediri Baptist Hospital. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the understanding of Health Information Management (MIK) Study Program students about health ethics and law in the governance of manual and electronic medical records in hospitals was moderate. The majority of students understand the basic principles of health ethics and law related to manual and electronic medical records, such as confidentiality of patient data, informed consent, and access to health information. However, there are still some students who do not understand deeply about the application of health ethics and law in the practice of manual and electronic medical records in hospitals. It is important to improve the understanding of Health Information Management (MIK) Study Program students about health ethics and law in the governance of manual and electronic medical records in hospitals. This can be done through various efforts, such as strengthening lecture materials, seminars, and workshops related to ethics and health law in manual and electronic medical records.
